Around a year later
The boys and I were all gathered at the pool in our house along with Junsu and his mate Yuri. Jin and Junsu were handling the barbeque while Taehyung and Jimin were playing with Junsu’s kids.
The twins, Lizzie and Eric were really adorable. They were almost one year old now but they were really active. They did not speak clearly, except for a few words here and there but they were pretty chatty. They were energetic like their father but also graceful like their mother.
‘I’m really glad you could make it,’ I said, turning to Yuri who was happily sipping on her ice-tea.
‘I’m glad too and if it means that the kids will play with your mates like that and give me a break, I’ll come every weekend,’ Yuri said laughing.
‘I imagine they’re quite a handful,’ Jungkook said, scratching his neck as he looked at her and then back at the twins with an adoring smile on his face.
‘They are,’ she said with a sigh. ‘But they’re also our world. Before it was me and Junsu but as soon as they were born, our world revolved completely around them,’ she explained with a loving gaze.
I felt eyes on me and I couldn’t help but look up to see my own boys looking at me. I felt a blush creep on my face because although we’ve been together for a year, we’ve never been more intimate than cuddling or making out.
‘What about you lot? It’s been about a year now. How has life been treating you here on this beautiful island?’ Junsu asked from his own place at the barbeque. He was often here at the house, but he always made sure to ask every time.
‘Oh amazing hyung!’ Hoseok exclaimed with a big, bright smile. ‘We’ve been able to do so many things together. We’ve went to the beach and we experienced snow together. We even went skiing and hiking up on that mountain trail,’ Hoseok said.
‘It’s definitely an island that has everything. We’ve also been learning new skills and hobbies you know,’ Namjoon said. I smiled as I nodded to myself as I recalled all the new hobbies the boys have been engaging in.
All the boys spend a lot of time working out and honing their fitness skills. Whether it’s a jog around the land or doing physical exercise, I could truthfully say that all of them looked pretty amazing and fit. It definitely was a bonus for me to look at, not that I would admit it to them.
Jungkook has gotten very much into video editing as well as art. He perfected everything he tries his hand into. Namjoon loves writing and reading. I often found him scribbling away on a piece of paper. Jin continued to explore cooking while also started learning the guitar. Taehyung got obsessed with photography and art. Sometimes, he would spend time quietly with Jungkook as the two painted together. Hoseok and Jimin found a new love for dance and I could honestly say, they were the best dancers I ever saw in my life. As for Yoongi, Yoongi has been learning the piano from me. It was one of the things I had learned at the orphanage.
‘Yeah I know. I have to admit that Yuri and I are eternally grateful that you have accepted us to be part of the pack,’ Junsu added.
‘Of course. First of all, you’re a friend of Alina and now of ours and we won’t ever forget that you came to help us without hesitation,’ Taehyung said.
‘Not to mention, this gives your pups a pack to grow into and eventually, especially if there are more pups,’ Jimin said, almost with a hint.
‘Is someone thinking about having pups?’ Junsu teased, which causes me to roll my eyes at him. Jimin’s face instantly lit up to be red.
‘Awhh look at Chim getting all shy,’ Yoongi teased as he playfully punched Jimin on the arm. Jimin whined shyly while Jungkook snaked his arms around my waist.
‘Looks like Chim is not the only one getting shy,’ Jungkook said as he kissed my neck while I snuggled into him.
‘Yah, stop it Kooks,’ I said while he tickled me. Everyone laughed loudly until he did stop. ‘You can be so annoying sometimes,’ I said in good humour.
‘But you love it,’ he said with a wink. I shrugged and nodded while he laughed even more.
‘Food’s ready,’ Jin called out as I got off my place and hurried to help. I started placing the plates on the table and then turn to see Taehyung and Jimin pick up the twins and put them in the highchairs. My heart felt as if it skipped a beat. I wanted to build a family with them in the future – one with our own pups, but for that I had to overcome my own fears. I had to let them in.
During this year we’ve bee together, we’ve come to know each other well. We’ve shared difficult moments and we’ve seen each other cry and laugh. We’ve had arguments but we made up. Yet, there was one secret I could not bring myself to tell. I lost count how many times I was close to saying the truth but I never managed. I backed away like a coward each time.
Suddenly, I felt arms around my waist again. I flinched at the sudden contact just as I felt a pair of lips against my cheeks. ‘Hey, you okay princess?’ Yoongi asked as I nodded.
‘Yeah just got lost in thinking,’ I said while he nodded but did not look convinced. ‘You know how I keep saying I want to tell you something but I keep backing away like a coward and—’ I said, but he quickly turned me around and crashed his lips against mine.
The kiss was small but full of love and reassurance. He pulled back and leaned his forehead against mine. ‘Don’t call yourself a coward my love. You’re anything but a coward,’ he said. He gave another peck as he showed me that gummy smile that I adored so much. ‘Let’s go eat,’ he said and I nodded.
We ate until we could not eat anymore. We left everything on the table as we drank some more wine. ‘Tonight was fun,’ Yuri said with a big smile on her face.
‘We usually meet up for quick lunches or in between doing patrol around the area so this was special,’ Taehyung said in agreement.
‘And summer is the perfect time for it. I mean—’ Hoseok stopped as we heard howling in the distance. ‘Did you hear that?’ he asked.
I looked at the others as we all exchanged worried looks. ‘Do you think it’s a wolf in trouble?’ I asked.
‘Could be. We should go check it out,’ Namjoon said, standing up.
‘I’ll come with you,’ I said but Taehyung shook his head as he pushed me back down on the chair. ‘Tae, I can help. What if it’s an injured wolf?’ I asked.
‘Then we’d bring it here,’ Taehyung said as he earned a nod from Namjoon and Yoongi. ‘Listen, we don’t know what is out there so it could be dangerous and besides, we shouldn’t leave Yuri alone,’ he said.
I frowned, knowing he was right. Yuri was an Omega with two pups. She needed protection and I definitely could offer that. I nodded in agreement.
‘Good. Jin, Jimin, Hoseok stay with them. Junsu, come with us,’ Namjoon said, giving out orders.
‘Be careful,’ I said quickly. They nodded as they quickly removed their clothes and left them in a pile. I watched as Namjoon, Yoongi, Jungkook, Taehyung and Junsu all jumped and transformed mid-air.
I heard the howling again and I closed my eyes. Goddess let them be okay. I silently prayed in my heart as I opened my eyes. I looked, searching for them but could not find them. I frowned as I bent down and grabbed their clothes and started folding them,
‘Alina, can I use the baby room? It’s late and I… I um should put the twins to sleep,’ Yuri said in a quiet, soft voice. I knew she was worried and trying to distract herself.
‘Of course. You know where it is,’ I said as she nodded while Hoseok and Jin went to grab the twins. ‘Go with her,’ I said as the two nodded. I watched them leave the back garden while I turned back to the clothes.
I felt Jimin come from behind me as he hugged. They all knew that I loved that and that it gave me a sense of security and comfort. ‘They will be okay,’ Jimin said.
‘I know but I still worry Jimin. I still get scared. What if they run into those damned blood suckers or those horrible hunters? I don’t even know which is worse,’ I mumbled.
‘Either or, they will come home safely to us princess. You have to trust them more than you trust your fears. Do you think you can do that for me?’ he asked.
‘Yeah but can we cuddle? At least that would distract me a little,’ I said as I folded the last bit of clothing.
‘Of course baby,’ he said as he suddenly picked me up in his arms. I giggled slightly as I wrapped my arms around his neck while he carried me inside. We kept going until we reached the living room. He put me down on the couch and then climbed up behind me, spooning me in his arms.
I heard footsteps and looked up to see Jin and Hoseok coming down hand in hand. ‘Yuri is staying next to her pups,’ Hoseok informed me while I nodded.
‘Now we just wait for them,’ Jin said as he and Hoseok both sat down on the carpet, right in front of me and Tae. Now we just waited.
So, as some of you know I have a little bit of anxiety, especially pertaining to food and sleep overs BUT as of Wednesday I will be trying to face my fears off and trying to sleep with my friends at our sister island. We'll start with three days and if I manage to do more, I might stay more. Say a little prayer for me. I probably won't get a lot of time to update.
Now for the story. Everything was going perfectly. It's been a year since they moved. Their pack increased with two members and two pups. We see Alina still holds on to her secret carefully. They know something happened in her past but don't pressure her into saying it. Now it seems a wolf or wolves could be in trouble. Who could t be and what might it be?
